Why have only one project car when you can have three? Project Upggrayed
Do you ever buy something you shouldn't? I do all the time, especially with vehicles. Here I have my latest suspect purchase, which I hope to happily cruise off into the sunset with. Of course that would require finding time between the other projects.
The car is a 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, and here is the start of our journey together. Project Upggrayed - With two Gs for a double dose of G body [something].

    I'm gonna design front and rear bumbers for a Volkswagen Caddy. Nobody makes the steel bumpers I want. I'll add a tyre carrier and fuel and water carrier for the back. A winch plate up front. Oh yeahhhhh

      Possibly if you removed the hydraulic pump from the front, but I do not think that it would be any easier than pulling the engine out.

    • @2drx4
      @2drx4 5 месяцев назад

      Good point, the industrial version (this one) doesn't have a balance shaft. I'd forgotten to mention the car has one and the marks have to be aligned for it. The other video I'm referring to is for an industrial engine, which was the only reason I made this.

    I assume your putting this into a Jeep? Could it be put back into the car. Hence a manj shift MB conversion. Would the driveline match and the shift lever position be correct?

    • @2drx4
      @2drx4 Год назад

      You could put it back in the car if you used a 2wd AX-15 or NV3550. The 2wd variants of these are a little rare. Lengths would be different, you would need a new driveshaft most likely. The shifter position may not be ideal, I couldn't tell you. Both these transmissions are not car transmissions, and the gear ratios on them are probably not ideal. If you used a MB to GM adapter you could probably run something like a T56 and get better spreads, but 99% of people doing these conversions are putting them in SUVs/trucks so they want to use a truck transmission, so I don't know how much info is out there on using them in a car.

    Entertaining. File cabinets are too flimsy frankly, the doors will end up not working well after a short time of moving it around would be my opinion. Just commenting for the algorithm. I need to make another cart, my current one made of two hf dollys and some 2x4 broke. Everyone seems to use straight wheels in back, my first cart was that way, I hated not being able to move it sideways at will.

    • @2drx4
      @2drx4 Год назад

      File cabinets are available in a variety of qualities based on load rating. The one I used in a mid grade one and has zero issues with the heavy welder on top and being filled with clamps and consumables. I have many of the high grade ones for storing hardware, and some of them have hundreds of pounds in each drawer and been in daily use without failure. The cheap ones are only good for storing light articles like rags, gloves, respirators, etc, and I think that's what you're more familiar with.

    muy buena la ilustración, pero, tiene un detalle negativo, este vehículo por defecto de su generación tiende a levantar temperatura por muchos evidentes factores, tales como, el herrero como componente número 1 en la estructuración de sus motor o engine, cabeza de motor hierro, block hierro, componente interno casi en su totalidad hierro, sus fan clucht estándar muy pequeño y la posición no es la más adecuada, el tamaño pequeño, aerodinámica y posición de su radiador totalmente desproporcionales, en la posición en la cual estas instalado este winch limita más de un 30 % la entrada principal de aire, por tanto considero que es una mala idea este procedimiento.

    GMC & Chevy produced those generation fullsize truck models from 1973 - 1991, except the half & three quarter ton regular cab pickups were discontinued in 1987 & the one ton regular cab pickups were discontinued in 1989. Also those generation fullsize pickups were the first GMCs & Chevys to have optional bigger cabs which were the crew cabs also introduced in 1973.
